John Peel in Dallas

I was quite surprised to learn that John Peel was first a DJ in America before becoming an icon back home in the UK.

As a witness to history, Peel both met JFK briefly in Dallas on during the presidential campaign of 1960 and later can be seen in news footage with Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby immediately after the assassination of President Kennedy.
